My Approach
My style is warm, collaborative, and practical. I combine emotional insight with strategies that are proven to work — not just talk therapy for its own sake, but tools you and your family can actually use. I draw on several evidence-based approaches depending on what fits:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) identifying and shifting the thought patterns that fuel anxiety and stress
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) building skills for emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and healthier relationships
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) learning to move forward in a meaningful direction even when anxiety is present
SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) a Yale-developed, parent-based program for children and teens with anxiety, where the parent, not the child, is the primary participant
Whether I'm working directly with a teen or young adult, or coaching a parent through SPACE, the goal is the same: real change that holds up outside the therapy room.
